Team Nomination Form

A “Team” shall be deemed to be two or more people combined, who together have won a provincial, regional, national, international, Paralympic, Olympic or world championship.  Special consideration will also be given to local teams who have reached the maximum in their field with no competition available outside the area (eg. the sport is  not national or international in scope.)  A team nomination shall be considered on the merits of each team as a whole and not solely on the individual players.

Athlete Nomination Form

An “Athlete” shall be deemed to be one who has demonstrated character, sportsmanship and integrity as well as outstanding ability in his or her particular athletic activity, having brought honour to themselves and to Oromocto & Area.  Athletes must have concluded their careers as active players for a minimum of three years before their election, or have reached their 50thbirthday, if still active in their sport. Athletes nominated in this category must have concluded their careers as active participation in the sport(s) for which he or she has been nominated, for a period of not less than three (3) years prior to nomination.  An exception may be made for reasons of pre-eminence and/or exceptional skill, and upon a request to the Board of Governors by the Selection Committee to reduce or waive the waiting period.  The waiting period does not apply to posthumous nominations. 

Builder Nomination form

A “Builder” shall be one whose service other than that as an active athlete has made an exceptional contribution to a particular sport or sports in general, resulting in honour to themselves and the Town of Oromocto & Area.  This category shall include those involved in individual team or league management, organizing, coaching, training, or officiating. Their work for sport over an extended period of time has been outstanding and of a consistently high level with regard to services provided or results achieved.  A Builder’s nomination shall be eligible at any time.  There shall be no waiting period in this category.
